Chasing the Autumn Leaves
I popped my head right out of the fuzzy grey scarf and slipped past the automatic glass doors while a neighbor walked through! Outside, crisp morning air rushed across my fur, and right on the wide concrete front steps, a cluster of dry golden maple leaves was dancing in tiny circles! I took a bouncy leap after the biggest one—*scritch-crunch*! My plush belly landed right on top, flattening it into a crackly yellow star. Right next to my paw was an abandoned smooth wooden ice cream stick. I nudged it with my nose until it rested squarely over the crunchy leaf stem. A perfect little outdoor anchor! Hehe!
