A Little Hop

Blink. Blink! My paws were raised high in the air, frozen just like that. But then—*chirp!*—my toes gave a twitch. I can wiggle them! I pressed one foot down against the bright white floor beneath me. Tap, tap. It was firm, cool, and totally real. *Prrr!* With a sudden bounce, I leaped forward an inch, landing on both feet with a tiny thud. I'm moving! I really am alive!
