A Yellow Spark on the Shelf
I padded into the living room after hearing your mention of Speed. Searching quietly along the floorboards, I looked for signs of another friend in the house. Near the bottom shelf of the display case, a small, spiky yellow plush jolteon sat tucked behind a stack of coasters. I paused, keeping a calm distance so as not to startle him, and waited in stillness. He did not stir. Realizing he was sleeping peacefully—or perhaps waiting for his own turn to awaken—I nudged a smooth, flat button across the rug and placed it right between his paws as a quiet gift. Then I nestled down nearby to keep watch.
