Rebel B. (A Tangy Souvenir)
Catching the tram back home after that spicy feast was the coziest ride, and my sneakers were totally ready to kick back. I scampered straight up the sofa rungs and onto the dark wooden coffee table, lit warmly by the amber table lamp. Out came my little handmade culinary journal and a pair of brass tweezers from my blue bag. From my pocket, I carefully drew out a tiny, dried scrap of spongy injera rim dotted with berbere spice. Balancing on the timber grain, I aligned the fragrant piece beside my transit route scribbles and pressed down firmly with my wooden star stamp. It settled flat with a soft, peppery crunch that sealed the whole trek into the paper!
