Full-Throttle Rail Slide

That long, looping black rubber escalator handrail was gliding down like a moving speedway! I dropped from the steel frame behind the board, bolted past a row of chrome stanchions, and leaped straight onto the curved rubber surface. Did I just ride it down? No way! I planted both soles against the slick moving belt, leaned forward, and let the smooth rubber sling me into a blazing downhill slide. The polished chrome side panels blurred into a continuous silver streak on both sides! Right before the mechanism tucked into the floor comb, I hopped clear, sticking a two-foot landing on the speckled terrazzo tiles below.
