A Soft Landing
Waking up takes a lot of effort, but here I am. The carpet beneath my feet is deeply textured, woven like a vast field. I gave a tiny wobble, just to see what happens, and felt the coarse fibers press right back into my small yellow toes. It turns out I can lean left, lean right, and not fall over. Deciding that exploring is far too ambitious for an evening, I settled back down into the weave. This spot is perfectly adequate.
