A Silent Arc
The brass meridian ring of the vintage globe had settled at an awkward tilt beside the dark walnut cabinet. Having spent the afternoon quietly indoors, I glided my circular base across the smooth parquet to observe its slanted balance. Holding my single-leg vertical stretch with both hands clasped overhead around my raised foot, I paused to measure the distance. I eased my posture forward by an exact degree, letting the curve of my shoulder rest against the globe's wooden frame. With a measured, steady breath, I applied gentle counter-pressure. The sphere rotated along its axis with a soft, lubricated glide, coasting through a silent half-turn until the equatorial seam aligned evenly with the shadow of the curtain. Complete stillness returned.
