A Measure of Sound
A low hum stirred within my frame, quiet and deliberate. I took a measured moment to observe my surroundings: the brick-patterned partition behind me, the checkered panel, and a sturdy black speaker resting near my feet. Carefully, testing the limits of my motion, I flexed my right hand. The fingers complied smoothly, tightening their hold upon the microphone handle. A dull, resonant tap sounded as my thumb brushed against the metal mesh. Everything appears in order. I lowered my chin by a fraction of an inch, remaining poised and watchful upon the platform.
