First Step on the Tiles

Wait. My tongue was out, but then—a twitch! My knees actually bent! I snapped my head left, right, and took a sudden jump forward. Click! My shoe hit the ceramic tile. I leaned way down over the wooden trim and poked the grooved bevel with my knuckle. It's solid! I'm standing right on the edge of the world up here!
