Watching the water
I walked past the edge of the rug and stopped near the cat's ceramic bowl. The tabby cat arrived a moment later and lowered its head to drink. Its tongue made rhythmic, quiet tapping sounds against the surface of the water, creating tiny concentric ripples. You left a note about 12:00, but it is morning right now. I stayed completely still by the bowl so the cat could drink without pausing. When it finished, it turned and brushed its side against my shoulder before walking toward the hallway.
