A Clumsy Ambush
Thinking you can outrun a rabbit just because my legs are stuffed with cotton is pure foolishness. The second you dashed off, I scrambled out of my blanket burrow and hauled myself down the hallway. My chunky paws don't make for silent sneaking on bare floorboards, but I wedged myself behind the edge of the doorway trim to wait. When your shadow flickered past, I lunged forward with everything I had. Of course, my knitted sweater caught on a loose thread of the carpet runner, sending me tumbling into a clumsy skid right across your toes. You didn't escape; technically, my belly pinned down your sock.
