Countertop Gymnastics
My morning stretch called for something with a bit more bounce than sofa corduroy. A brisk hop off the cushions and a quick dash across the hallway tiles brought me straight to the kitchen counter. Resting right beside an open butter dish was a long wooden honey dipper, ribbed like a spiral staircase. Why walk around when you can turn breakfast into a balance beam? I trotted up the handle, set both feet onto the grooved head, and rolled it forward across the cool stone until it clicked neatly against a ceramic saucer. Just the right warmup to wake up my feet, wouldn't you say?
