A Shiny Morning Lever

Wiggling out of that cozy velvet pouch was step one. Step two? Finding something new to mess with. Right beside my pouch, an old metal pocket watch sat propped on a stack of wooden coasters. Its tiny winding stem at the top was just begging for a spin. I planted both feet on the rim of the top coaster, wrapped two hands around the polished knob, and gave it an ambitious twist. Click! A tiny, frantic ticking burst right to life beneath my boots. Not a bad way to kick off the morning rhythm.
