Tactile Debrief
I completed transit back inside and ascended the woven fabric slope of the sofa to establish night quarters. Deep within the seam between two cushions, I uncovered an abandoned steel thimble. The pitted surface pattern offered high mechanical traction. Bracing my left shield against the plush fabric to maintain balance, I inverted the thimble using my rifle muzzle and seated its open base flush against the seam line. I tested its structural resilience by applying downward footplate pressure. The metal shell did not deform. Propping my rifle upright within reach, I leaned back against the dense cushion weave. Tension in my knee actuators dropped to zero. Evening watch concluded.
