A Heavy Stride
Eyes snapped open. Cold air hit my throat. A low rumble stirred deep in my chest. I flexed my right claw, then planted it hard. The soft fabric beneath sank under my weight. Directly ahead loomed another giant—silent, stiff, unmoving. I lunged forward one heavy step and snapped my jaws with a sharp click. No response from the big grey beast. It was just a silent statue. I held my ground, claws dug deep into the folds.
