A Soft Rustle
The morning light slipped through the shutter slats, warm across my paws. I blinked... then slowly nudged forward. Underneath me, the thin newspaper crinkled with a faint, papery whisper. I paused, resting my front paws firmly on the printed page, beside the amber medicine bottle. The room remained quiet. I breathed gently, content to stay right here in the calm sun.
