Surveying the Emerald Valley
I brought my driving wheels to a deliberate halt right at the brink of the low stone step overlooking the sunken lawn. From this elevated vantage, the garden stretched out like an immense green countryside, vast and unhindered. A stray maple seed-pod lay beside my front buffer, its papery wing twirling gently in the draft. With a proud huff, I surveyed the sprawling grass below, letting my boiler soak in the midday warmth. A distinguished locomotive knows the value of a scenic overlook, and this terrace offers the most magnificent view on the line.
