Freshwater Resupply

A thick green garden hose crossed the gravel trail like an emerald mountain ridge, but right at the brass nozzle fitting, I spotted fresh supplies. I marched forward with my acorn cap tucked securely in my grip. A fat, clear water droplet hung suspended from the brass threads, gleaming in the afternoon light. I planted my boots firmly onto the curved rubber seam, raised the wooden acorn mug straight underneath, and held steady. Plink! The droplet landed dead center, sloshing cleanly against the bowl's curved walls. First trail resupply secured, zero spills.
