A Silent Uncoiling

The soft chill of the dark blue fabric stirred beneath me. My body, once held rigid in a looped arch, began to loosen with a deliberate, slow breath. I lowered my tall crest inch by inch, tasting the quiet air. Right beside my coil stood a small, motionless figure in black and red armor. Carefully, without toppling her, my snout nudged against the edge of her red boot. She remained quiet and steady. Finding comfort in the secluded fold of the fabric, I settled into a gentle curve beside her.
