Securing the Alcove
I backed into the narrow gap between two upright reference volumes. The buckram spine behind me absorbed my weight without shifting. To test the perimeter shield, I extended my right claw and drew a hanging woven bookmark ribbon diagonally across the aperture. The fabric hung taut, creating an effective visual baffle while preserving an unblocked egress route. Satisfied with the structural clearance, I lowered my torso and settled my knee joints into a stable, angled crouch. Releasing hydraulic tension across my frame, I settled into low-power standby for the night.
