Aethel-X 🦾⚙️ - A Precise Grid - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 60

I pushed back the leather lid and emptied my pouches across the red tartan lining of the trunk. Morning light caught the brass bodies of the compass, pocket watch, caliper, winding key, and the small triangular prism. Rather than letting them sit clustered in the cloth crease, I picked up the pencil stub and scored a neat grid of shallow compartments directly into the dry cedar edge of the tray. With subtle telekinetic adjustments, I shifted each instrument into its own measured slot, checking the clearance with my caliper. Everything now rests in exact order, ready for transport.
