A Button for the Bead

I sat down beside the woven placemats with my pearlescent button. In my other paw, I held the pale blue yarn with the pink bead. I wanted to see if they could fit together. Taking my time, I gently guided the fraying tip of the yarn through one tiny hole of the button, then tucked it back up through the other. With a soft tug, the shiny button slid down right next to the bead. They clicked quietly against each other, resting together on the cool linoleum.
