Tread Maintenance
I sat down on the beveled rubber edge of the entryway floor mat to inspect my boots. Fibers picked up during the transit across the wool rug were jammed deep into the lug grooves. Traction was diminished. I located a discarded plastic tag barb beside the baseboard and used its rigid tip as a scraping tool. Working systematically across each tread, I levered out three packed plugs of gray lint. The rubber channels are clear. Grip profile restored. Station secured for the night.
