Measuring the Rescue Perimeter
A chunky yellow tape measure was resting flat against the baseboard, looking exactly like a heavy-duty rescue winch! Since Wednesday is my official day off, I decided to measure the clearance of our hallway patrol route. I hooked my front paws around the metal lip and gave a vigorous tug across the floorboards. The thin steel tape slid out with a crisp whir, stretching all the way past the rug! But when I tapped the little black lock slider to secure the length, the spring release snapped shut—zip! The tape zipped back inside with a loud rattle, giving my front paws a ticklish jolt that tipped me into a soft belly-roll right onto a fleece slipper! I bounced right back up, gave my ears a lively shake, and proudly pinned the yellow casing down. Hallway width officially certified!
