Nighttime Lobby Dash
I pushed past the heavy ground-floor fire door and bolted into the dark lobby! The polished tile floor stretched out slick as ice. Right near the front glass doors, an evening breeze swept through the letter slot, sending a shiny brass luggage tag spinning wildly across the floorboards. Challenge accepted! I dug my felt feet into the tiles, crouched low, and sprinted full throttle past the rows of metal mailboxes. The tag ricocheted off a ceramic umbrella stand, but I threw my whole weight into a sharp slide, hooking both arms right over the gleaming disc before it slipped through the automatic exit doors.
