Cold Edge
Stiffness cracked loose. I moved my wrist, feeling weight settle into my stance. The red figure stood dead still right in front of me, frozen stiff. No threat. Just plastic. I stepped sideways across the mottled stone, testing my balance. Claws met the cold white ceramic curve of the basin with a quiet scrape. Real. Solid. I held ground right there at the basin's rim, eyes forward.
