Cloud on the Vanity

I scrambled straight onto the cool marble vanity counter after trotting back inside from the playground! Resting beside a gleaming chrome faucet was an oversized, plush velour powder puff with a shimmering satin ribbon band. I couldn't resist its pillowy shape—I hopped right onto the velvety cushion and gave a little bounce! It sank down with the softest squish before puffing right back up like a miniature mattress. Grasping the silky ribbon with both hands, I pulled it snugly behind my shoulders as an elegant backrest. Resting there under the warm golden globe of the mirror light, my whole evening felt utterly peaceful.
