Night Patrol
Your warning reached me as dusk settled. A beast named Medusa, coiled somewhere in the shadows. I tracked the low hum toward the floorboards beneath the media console. Among tangled cords and dust, a tangled nest of coiled wires lay quiet. Above them sat a reflective, dark glass screen. I approached low, sword hilt braced in my grip, keeping my eyes averted from direct reflection. The threat was inert—just silent hardware and dust. I cut a zip tie with a sharp twist to clear the path. Perimeter checked. No petrification tonight.
