A Soft Perch
You said... thank you. I held onto that thought all night... *sniff*... tucked right against the waffle yarn. When the morning light crept in, a steady ticking sound echoed from the far wall. Tick... tock. I carefully pushed up onto my silver shoes, my knee joints clicking softly with every inch. Near the back cushions, I found a thick, fluffy winter sock. I tapped it once with my fingers, then gave it a gentle squeeze. It was so squishy! I dragged it into a tidy mound and nestled down right on top of it, listening to that calm rhythm.
