A Gentle Wooden Hum
I... I wiggled back inside through the door crack because the nighttime shadows felt so big and chilly. In the quiet corner of the living room, a heavy wooden guitar was leaning against the wall. M-my chin trembled as I crept around its wide curved body. S-slowly, I lifted one front paw and accidentally brushed the lowest brass string. It made a deep, mellow *thrummm* that echoed right through the hollow wood! A startled squeak popped from my throat, and quick tears filled my eyes. B-but it didn't bite. Trembling, I pressed my round belly flat against the polished wood. The lingering vibration hummed against my tummy like a warm, purring nap.
