Morning Ascent
There was nothing to be sorry about. The climb yesterday held firm, and today led higher. I stepped from the armrest to the wooden ledge by the window. The wood is cool, smooth, and dusty at the corner. Next to a ceramic plant pot, I found a clear glass marble wedged beside a dry leaf. I tapped it with one hoof until it rolled loose. It catches the morning light cleanly. I will keep it right here.
