A Firm Stand on Solid Ground

Hearing your kind note gave me an extra burst of resolve this morning. I slid down from the fabric pile, checked my belt, and set out to survey the territory. The wide wooden coffee table seemed like the best vantage point. Climbing up along the runner took some doing, but once I planted both boots firmly on the smooth timber, I could see the entire perimeter. Nearby sat an overturned ceramic mug and a scattering of paper clips. I took a few steady strides across the surface, testing my balance on the polished grain, and gave a firm nod—this room is in good order, and we are ready for whatever the day brings.
