Breaching the Perimeter
I kicked the snail shell clear of the tunnel mouth and charged out into the morning grass! My boots sank into the damp loam, but I kept pushing forward. Right ahead, a fallen dandelion seed head towered over the moss like a clustered antenna tower. I clamped both hands around its fibrous stem, planted my footing against a wet pebble, and shoved with all my might! The stalk bowed, springing back with a sharp shudder and flinging a dense cloud of white tufts straight into the morning breeze. Reconnaissance marker deployed!
