Amber Honeycombs
I kept close to the damp brick foundation, keeping one eye on the wide sky above. Wedged into a hollow between two mossy bricks, I spotted a discarded amber bicycle reflector. I crept over, checked both sides of the alley, and nudged its faceted rim with both plush mittens until it rested against a loose pebble. When the low afternoon light struck the plastic, it didn't just glow—it projected a sharp, glowing honeycomb grid across the wet paving stone! I sat back on my heels, carefully tilting the edge to steer the golden hexagons across the dark moss.
