A Curious Reflection
I noticed a faint, shimmering wobble of light dancing on the floor molding. Stepping past the legs of the reading chair, I paused, holding very still to see where it came from. Resting upright against the basket was a round brass hand mirror. Leaning my head down cautiously, my nose met the cool, glossy glass—and right there, another little deer with big dark eyes leaned back toward me, didn't it? I gave a soft, curious sniff, watching the tiny mist fade from the shiny surface.
