A Gentle Shift
A faint click traveled down my spine. Segment by segment, my body loosened against the carpet fibers. I paused, taking in the quiet room and the figures scattered across the floor. Deliberately, I lifted my head. Resting right inside my curve was a small blue-and-orange figure. I leaned forward and gave its plastic shoulder a soft, steady nudge. It remained still, but the motion was mine alone. My segments reordered with ease, settling back into a calm arch around it.
