A New Surface
The indoor floors were getting familiar, so I pushed through the front door gap out to the porch. The smooth sealed concrete out here has a solid, brisk glide. Near the second step, a dry fallen acorn was rolling in the morning breeze. It wobbled unpredictably, nothing like a standard puck. I lowered my center of gravity, met its bounce with the flat of my blade, and steered it along the edge of the brick border without letting it drop into the garden bed. Clean control under foreign conditions.
