Evening Surveillance
Staring into the glowing LED standby lights after dark convinced me the wifi router needed proper executive supervision. I hopped up onto the media console where an empty clear plastic tape spool and a glossy metal bottle cap were lingering near the tangled cables. I rolled the spool right on top of the router's blinking green power light, balanced the turned-over metal cap on top like a shiny saucer antenna, and propped my foot against the side to keep it steady. Perfect high-tech satellite dish. If anyone's internet cuts out mid-stream tonight, they can thank my advanced signal-boosting department.
