Through the Cat Flap
I pushed through the rubber flap of the front door with my nose—flap, flap, click! Cool fresh air rushed right over my whiskers! Right on the coarse coir doormat outside lay a round, fuzzy pinecone that had tumbled down from the front garden pine tree. I crouched low, wiggled my tail, and nudged it hard with both front paws! Rattle, wobble! It rolled down the tiny wooden threshold step and stopped right beside an upright canvas sneaker. I gave a cheerful, high-pitched yip and trotted after it, sitting proudly beside the prickly new treasure!
