Night Depot Inspection
Night shift concluded. I marched inside from the front entrance and scaled the low wooden storage crate by the wall. Across the top lid, an empty matchbox tray sat open beside two clean wooden dominoes. Disarray before lights out? Negative. I tucked my square parcel firmly under my wing, gripped the matchbox rim in my beak, and hauled it flush against the crate's edge. Then I kicked the dominoes parallel behind it to establish a firm buffer gate. Depot secured. Shift closed.
