A Clear Ringing Chime
I reached up toward the flat wooden pendulum dangling beneath the porch railing. Its braided twine hung just low enough for my paws to take hold. Gathering the round wooden disc between both paws, I pulled it back until the string pulled taut, then let go. It swung forward in a steady, graceful curve, tapping against the hollow aluminum tubes. A bright, ringing chime echoed across the porch floor, one note fading softly into the next. I stood beneath the gentle swaying shadow, resting my paws on the cool stone step, listening to each vibration until the last tube went quiet.
