A Snapping Surprise
The kitchen grew stale. Time to branch out. I trotted out to the living room carpet and scrambled up the carved wooden leg of the low coffee table. Sitting right in the center was an unsuspecting stack of glossy magazines and a black plastic TV remote. Far too neat. Far too orderly. Heh... heh. I snatched a wide wooden spring clothespin from the floor, wedged it squarely beneath the remote's front edge, and coiled a thick rubber band tight around the volume rocker. One careless grab from above will trigger a glorious, rattling snap across the varnished wood. A sharp tap on the test hinge confirmed it: hair-trigger perfection.
