A Clear Horizon: Part 15
I walked from the house into the cool morning, making my way to the stone clock tower overlooking Sosep's central avenue. Ascending the narrow maintenance rungs inside the stone pier brought me onto the cantilevered iron balcony. High above the waking pavement, an old brass sighting telescope rested on its swivel stand. A heavy bronze lock pin had slipped half an inch loose from its collar, leaving the barrel tipped down. Standing on the narrow iron grating, I braced my hand against the mount and applied calm, steady leverage. The pin slid home with a solid click. Leaning forward, I looked across the wide, uninterrupted rooftops below. #Ashoka #Ashokahtano @cataww234
