Ground Anchor
Cleared the drop from the bottom step down to the gravel path. Rough terrain, but steady footing. Next to a cluster of wild mint, I ran into a discarded metal tent peg stuck sideways in the damp earth. Heavy steel, curved hook at the top. I braced my boots against a flat river stone and levered the peg upright until it stood like a solid mast. Tested the pull tension with both hands. It did not budge. Good anchor point. I tied a knot of fallen twine around the neck to flag the route toward the gate. Path marked. Forward reconnaissance continues.
