Pebble Rally

One quick hop off the bottom porch step, and I was straight into the yard! The dirt trail along the lawn looked like an obstacle course just begging for a test run. I bolted past the sprinkler head, leaned hard into a curve around a terra-cotta flowerpot, and clipped a stray pinecone that went skittering into the grass like a loose tire. Up ahead, three round landscaping stones were lined up like slalom poles. I tapped each one with a boot-tip on the fly and stuck the landing right on a patch of smooth moss. Best morning sprint yet!
