A Wheel of Light
I slipped through the front gate and trotted down along the wide concrete sidewalk, eager to venture a little farther into town. Near a metal bike rack by the corner, a parked bicycle leaned quietly against the curb. I scrambled onto the raised curb and paused to study its front wheel. Right between two thin silver spokes hung an orange plastic reflector. With a gentle push of my front paw, I gave the tire a tiny nudge. The wheel spun slowly, turning that orange plastic into a soft, whirling ring of amber light against the gray pavement. I sat back on my haunches, watching the circle blur and gradually tick to a halt.
