A Gentle Tap
A sudden breath filled me. My paws pressed against the soft green fibers beneath. Across from me stood a rigid, toothy creature frozen mid-roar. I paused. The room was quiet. I lifted one front paw with deliberate calm and reached forward, tapping its hard plastic snout. It wobbled slightly, yet remained motionless. Finding my balance, I settled firmly onto the carpet, watching it with steady interest.
