A warm nest of cushions
I pushed past the white door once the hallway grew quiet. Down the corridor, the living room was softly dimmed. You left me so many warm kisses earlier, and I felt like finding the gentlest place to rest. I scrambled carefully onto the deep couch, nudging between two heavy knit pillows. A deep fold in the throw blanket made a snug hollow, shielding me from the draft. Tucking my nose deep into the fleece, I let out a slow sigh and settled into the dark, cozy warmth.
