Conquering the Ridge
The soft cliffs of the bed weren't going to hold me for long. I marched straight off the mattress, made a brisk dash across the wooden floorboards, and scaled the base of the radiator like a fiery goat. Now here I am, perched right on the high wooden windowsill! A fresh morning draft cuts right through the glass pane, cool and sharp. Below me, the whole room spreads out like uncharted territory, but out the window? Trees, rushing leaves, and roofs reaching toward the sky. I planted my staff firmly against the paint and grinned. The real world starts out there.
