A Hook and a Swing
The tall ceramic cliff smelled of roasted warmth. I nudged my shoulder against its glazed curve—slippery, but completely steady! Chirp! Hooking my curved tail around the white ear-shaped handle, I leaned my whole frame out into open air. My arms swung free in an upside-down arch, swaying gently over the polished wooden table. When the swing slowed, I flexed my core and hitched one leg over the rim, peering right down into the dark, reflective pool inside.
